Exhaust System, Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Conditions 

Procedure 

-- Loosen threaded connections of front clamp -1-.

-- Position clamp -1- so that dimension -a- at marking on pipe -2- is 5 mm and tighten front bolt hand-tight. -Arrow- points in direction of travel.

-- Slide the exhaust pipe and the muffler far enough forward into the clamp until dimension -a- on the outer front muffler retaining loop is 9 to 11 mm. -Arrow- points in direction of travel.

-- Tighten front clamp in this position uniformly to 25 Nm.

End Pipes, Aligning 

-- Align rear muffler so that distance -a- between bumper cut out and right and left tail pipes is equal.

At the same time, distance -b- of bumper cutout must run parallel to tail pipes.

-- To align tail pipes, loosen rear muffler mounting components if necessary.
