Rear Lid, Adjusting

Setting Gauge 3371

NOTE:

Vehicle must be standing on its wheels for basic setting of rear lid.

The lid lock is attached directly to the lid. It does not have any elongated holes so it cannot be adjusted.

Stops recognized in other vehicles do not serve to adjust the lid. They stabilize or cushion the lid.

The following information describes several steps for adjusting the rear lid.

To adjust or check panel gaps, use Setting gauge 3371.

-- Remove gas-filled strut. Refer to GAS STRUT .

-- Adjust rear lid at lid hinge by loosening the bolts, item 9. Refer to REAR LID OVERVIEW .

-- Adjust rear lid with lid hinge by loosening the hex nut, item 6. Refer to REAR LID OVERVIEW .

-- Adjust stop. Refer to ADJUSTMENT BUFFER, ADJUSTING .

NOTE:

The rear lid is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed, it is not too far inward or outward and contours align.
