Instrument Cluster: Removal

  1. Remove drivers airbag. See DRIVER'S AIRBAG UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Remove screws, unclip lower trim and set aside. See Fig 1 .
    NOTE: The Data Link Connector (DLC) is installed on the lower trim. Remove connector only when necessary.
  4. Disconnect electrical connections from steering column switch assembly. Remove screws and remove steering column switch assembly. Remove trim upper trim upwards. See Fig 1 .

  5. Remove screws and unclip instrument cluster trim from retainers. See Fig 2 .

  6. Remove screws to the left and right of the cluster assembly. See Fig 3 . Tip instrument cluster forwards. Disconnect electrical connections on rear of instrument cluster.
  7. Where necessary, separate the harness retainer (for the blue, 32-pin connector) from the rear of the cluster.
  8. Remove instrument cluster.
