Open circuit or short circuit to battery positive, or short circuit to ground. Possible effect may be instrument cluster displays dashes (- - -). Read Measuring Value Block. See READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK (FUNCTION 08) .
Outside air temperature sensor (G17) malfunctioning. Locate malfunction using wiring diagram. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article under ELECTRICAL. Replace outside air temperature sensor.
