Disassembling and assembling "K1" clutch housing

The clutch will now be disassembled for cleaning. No repairs can be made.
Disassembling "K1" clutch housing
- Remove retaining ring for plates.
- Remove plates.
- Slowly and carefully press down piston cap only far enough that the ring can be removed.
- Remove retaining ring.
- Remove piston cap and spring.
- Drive piston out of clutch housing.
- To do this, gently strike a plastic mallet against upper edge of clutch housing.
Assembling "K1" clutch housing
- Carefully press piston by hand into clutch housing to stop.
- Lay spring, piston cap and retaining ring in clutch housing.
- Carefully center piston cap before pressing it down.
- Slowly and carefully press down piston cap only far enough that the ring can be installed.
- Install retaining ring.
- Install plates.
- Install retaining ring for plates.
