Crankshaft oil seal, replacing (vibration damper end): Installing

Lightly oil sealing lip of oil seal.
Place guide sleeve from 3266/1 onto crankshaft journal.
Slide oil seal over guide sleeve.

Press oil seal in up to stop with press sleeve from 3266. To do this use an old vibration damper securing bolt.

Install vibration damper and lock with counter-hold tool 3273.
Tighten new securing bolt.
Tightening torque:
- Stage I: 100 Nm (74 ft lb)
- Stage II: an additional 1/4 turn (90 °)

CAUTION:

Always replace securing bolt.
When tightening the securing bolt the crankshaft must not turn.
