Locking cable, removing and installing: Installing

- When installing ensure that the routing of the locking cable is correct. See Locking cable, removing and installing .
- Locking cable must not be kinked.
- Adjust locking cable after installing. Refer to Locking cable, adjusting .
- Shift selector lever into "P" position.
- Press locking cable into support bracket on selector lever housing until lugs on retaining clip (arrows) spring outward.
- Attach locking cable in locking lever.
- Turn ignition key to "ignition on" position.
- Push locking cable into steering lock. See Figure .
- Push clip into locking cable.
- Ensure that clip is properly located.
- Adjust locking cable. Refer to Locking cable, adjusting .
