Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table

Example: DTC (5-digit) 65535 XYZ (type of DTC, 3 digits - this 3-digit indicator is not covered in the table)

No DTC recognized! If "No DTC recognized" appears after performing repairs, the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) is completed.
If the automatic transmission does not operate properly after checking the DTC memory and correcting any malfunctions. Refer to Measured value block, reading, Measured value block, reading

2) Check the connections for contact corrosion or water ingress and replace if necessary. If solenoid DTCs are displayed then check the 10-pin connector on the transmission between the valve body conductor strip and the wiring harness.

  • Check connectors for contact corrosion or water ingress, replace if necessary. If the solenoid valves are indicated as being faulty pay special attention to the 10-pin connector between the conductor strip/valve body and wiring harness on the transmission.
       
1) A faulty Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor -G93- is indicated.

  • Check engine control module. Refer to 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) for 1.9 LITER 4-CYL. 2V TDI FUEL INJECTION GLOW PLUG, ENGINE CODE: ALH, MY 1999-2001 and 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) for 1.9 LITER 4-CYL. 2V TDI FUEL INJECTION GLOW PLUG, ENGINE CODE ALH, FROM MY 2002.

NOTE: Do not replace the Transmission Control Module -J217- or return the system to the basic setting. Refer to Electrical/electronic components, location  , until the possible cause of any malfunction has been determined and the following types of malfunction have been corrected:
  • mechanical malfunctions
  • hydraulic malfunctions
  • all affected electrical/electronic components and wiring connections
