Knock sensors, checking: Notes

NOTE:

It is extremely important to keep to the tightening torque of 20 Nm to ensure the knock sensors function normally.
Only gold plated terminals may be used when servicing the knock sensor harness connector terminals.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 or mobile scan tool VAG 1552 with adapter cable VAG 1551/3
Test box VAG 1598/31
Multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent)
Adapter set VW 1594
