The engine identification number ( "engine code" and "serial number" ) is located on the engine block next to the cylinder head, beneath the chain tensioner for the camshaft roller chain.

It can be seen by looking down between the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heating element N79 and the throttle valve control unit.

In addition, a sticker with the engine code and the serial number is affixed to the valve cover.

The engine code is also listed on the vehicle data label.
