• For wiring harness of oil level thermal sensor
• Multiple versions: Bolted or clipped

3 - 15 Nm 

4 - Oil dipstick 

• Oil level must not be above Max. mark!
• Marks Markings on oil dipstick 

5 - Inlet spout 

• For extracting oil

6 - Guide tube 

7 - Alignment bushings 

8 - O-ring 

• Always replace

9 - 15 Nm 

10 - Suction line 

• Clean strainer if dirty

11 - Splash wall 

12 - 15 Nm 

13 - 15 Nm 

14 - Oil pan 

• Clean sealing surface before installing
• Install with silicone sealant D 176 404 A2  . Refer to Oil pan, removing and installing 

15 - Oil seal 

• Always replace

16 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm 

• Replace screw with permanent sealing ring

17 - 10 Nm 

18 - Oil level thermal sensor G266 

• Only on vehicles 05.99 →
• Check. Refer to Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting and Component Locations

19 - Oil seal 

• Always replace

20 - Oil pump 

• With pressure relief valve 12 bar
• Before installing, check to be sure both alignment bushings are present (for centering oil pump/cylinder block)
• Replace if contact surfaces and gears are scored

21 - Chain sprocket 

22 - 20 Nm 

23 - 15 Nm 

24 - Chain 

25 - Sealing flange 

• With seal
• Removing and installing. Refer to Sealing flange (front), removing and installing 
• Install with silicone sealant D 176 404 A2  . Refer to Sealing flange (front), removing and installing 
• Note different versions of seals

• PTFE-version of sealing ring without internal ring spring
• Seal for crankshaft - belt pulley side, replacing. Refer to Crankshaft seal (ribbed belt side), replacing 

26 - Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm

• When installing, pretension spring and engage
