Piston position at TDC, checking: Notes

- Measuring bar VW 382/7
- Magnetic plate 50 mm dia. VW 385/17
Test sequence
Piston projection at TDC must be measured when installing new pistons or a short block. Depending on piston projection, install corresponding cylinder head gasket according to the following table.
NOTE:
- To measure the piston position at TDC, turn the crankshaft clockwise.
