Installation Position Of Seals For Piston "B2"

Lay the pair of seals which are to be installed one on top of the other and flat on a clean surface. They must not be twisted.

Now it can be seen that the rings have different sizes.
Moisten seals with ATF before installing.

Install small seal - 1 - inside in piston and large one - 2 - outside.

If everything has been done correctly, the squared side of each seal - arrows - now lies in the respective groove in piston. The rounded sides lies to the outside and are visible.

Installing piston

Carefully press piston into cover to stop without canting.
When inserting piston, be very careful that the seals remain seated in the grooves of the piston.
Using twisting motion , push piston further into cover until it engages in one of four possible positions.

The cover may now be installed.
