Transmission, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. During this step, observe the following:
- Install torque converter.

The torque converter is correctly installed when the distance - a - between the flange on the transmission housing and the contact surface of the torque converter locating pins is
- 21 mm in 4-cylinder engines
- 17 mm in 5 and 6-cylinder engines
- Ensure that torque converter does not slide out of transmission during installation.

- If transmission is to be replaced, the transmission bracket - A - must be transferred to the new transmission - arrow -.
- Before installing, ensure that the dowel sleeves are correctly located.
- When installing transmission, observe torque converter contact impression on drive plate.
- Replace securing clip on support bracket for selector lever cable.
- Check selector lever cable adjustment and adjust if necessary. Refer to Selector lever cable, checking and adjusting .
- Finally, check ATF level and top off. Refer to ATF level, checking and topping off .
- Carry out basic settings.
- Enter radio code, refer to 91 RADIO, TELEPHONE, NAVIGATION, TRIP COMPUTER .
