Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erasing

Requirement: 

After DTC memory has been checked:

05 - Erase DTC memory

Warning!
DTC memory was not checked.
NOTE:
  • If the ignition was switched off e.g. between checking the DTC memory and erasing the DTC memory, the DTC memory is then not erased.
  • Adhere strictly to the sequence of operations, i.e. first of all check the DTC memory.

DTC memory is not erased

If one or more DTCs are present.

Indicated on display

DTC memory is erased!

The DTC memory will be erased approx. 5 seconds after the display appears.

The DTC memory is now erased.

NOTE: Wait about 1 minute before again checking the DTC memory.

System cannot be checked!

Print out with printer switched on

Transmission control module (TCM) -J217- was not given sufficient time to recognize DTCs.

When the DTC memory is checked, the following display should appear:

"No DTC recognized!"
