WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Volkswagen R32. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
A distinction is made between two types of All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492- :
- None of the control modules before 04/99 are diagnostic capable. For problems on these vehicles, perform the complete electrical test → Haldex Clutch, testing .
- All of the control modules from 05/99 are diagnostic capable. This new generation of control modules, with modified software, can only be recognized by the part number of the control module. For customer complaints, "Guided Fault Finding" must be performed using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system VAS 5051.
