Safety precautions

To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the injection and glow plug system, observe the following precautions:

Secure Scan Tool to rear seat and operate from this position.
If test and measuring instruments are operated from the front passengers seat and the vehicle is involved in an accident, there is a possibility that the person sitting in this seat may receive serious injuries if the airbag is triggered.
- The ignition must be switched off before connecting or disconnecting injection or glow plug system wiring or adapter cables.
- If the engine is to be cranked at starter speed, without starting, e.g. when checking compression, disconnect the 10-pin connector off Fuel Cut-off Valve N109 on injection pump - arrow -.
- Before disconnecting the battery, obtain the radio code for radios that have anti-theft coding.
- Only disconnect and connect the battery when the ignition is switched off or the Diesel Direct Fuel Injection Engine Control Module J248 may be damaged.
- Fuel hoses in engine compartment must only be secured with spring type clips. The use of clamp or screw type clips is not allowed.
