NOTE:
- Individual measurements can be displayed in mode 1 but it is not recommended for VW specialist workshops because this data is more comprehensively available under address word 01, function 04 or function 08.
- Mode 2 shows operating conditions under which a malfunction was detected (freeze frame).
- Mode 3 checks DTC memory and mode 4 erases DTC memory (diagnostic data).
- Mode 6 displays measured values of components and systems which are not continually monitored.
- Mode 7 malfunctions can be activated by On Board Diagnostic but did not switch on MIL K83. These are not compulsory malfunctions and there is no malfunction entry under Mode 3. Repeat the stored malfunctions under Mode 7, so they are entered under Mode 3 and erased under Mode 7.
