Cover, removing and installing: Notes

1 - Cable guide
- For coolant hoses and wiring harness
- Coolant hose connection diagram → Coolant hose connection diagram
2 - 8 Nm
3 - Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 2 G163
- For exhaust camshaft
- Mark connector and component before disconnecting
- Checking: → 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)
4 - Chain tensioner, 40 Nm
- Turn engine over only when chain tensioner is installed
5 - Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking
6 - Cover
- Can be removed and installed with cylinder head fitted
- Coat sealing surfaces with sealing compound AMV 188 001 02
- If only cover has been removed, prepare cylinder head gasket for assembly, Preparing cylinder head gasket for installation under Cylinder head, servicing
7 - 8 Nm
8 - Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking
- Installing Installing seals for cover
9 - 23 Nm
10 - Bracket
- For wiring harness
11 - Thermostat housing
- Disassembling and assembling → Coolant thermostat housing, disassembling and assembling
- Coolant hose connection diagram → Coolant hose connection diagram
12 - Seal
- Replace
13 - Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor G40
- For intake camshaft
- Mark connector and component before disconnecting
- Checking: → 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)
14 - O-ring
- For oil channel seal
- Replace
- Lubricate before installing
