Engine, securing to assembly stand

When working on the engine, it must be secured to support clamp VW 313 using engine and transmission bracket VW 540.

Belt pulley end: 2nd hole on support bar in position 1

Flywheel end: 4th hole on support bar in position 8

CAUTION: The hooks and locating pins must be secured with locking pins.
NOTE:
  • The positions marked 1 to 4 on the bar must be toward the belt pulley end.
  • The holes in the hook rails are counted up from the hook.
NOTE:
  • First loosen coolant pipe at flywheel end.
