Current data, mode 1: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 15 other vehicles, including the 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, 1999 Volkswagen Golf, 1999 Volkswagen Cabrio, 1998 Volkswagen Jetta, and 1998 Volkswagen Golf. In mode 1 the current diagnostic data can be interrogated. Additionally the readiness code can be displayed (PID1 display field 4).

The On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program can be used to check whether individual parameters correspond to actual engine condition.

Display will appear as shown

Module 10* or 1A* will be displayed alternately when:

Example: Engine Coolant Temperature is measured at the ECM and ATF at the TCM.

Diagnostic data must be individually interrogated via the button. Press the Print button to obtain a printout.

The MIL is said to be switched ON when the engine is not idling, and only the ignition is switched ON.
