VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), connecting (1993 m.y.)

Battery Positive Voltage (B+) OK
Fuse 22 (S22) OK
Ground (GND) connections on engine and transmission OK (location: below lower part of intake manifold)

Unclip cover for Data Link Connectors (DLC) under heating/ventilation controls.
Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) with VAG 1551/1 adapter harness as follows:

First connect black connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to black Data Link Connector (DLC).

* Operating modes 1 and 2 are displayed alternately.

NOTE: If no display appears, do not connect the white connector. In this case, check the voltage supply for the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST). See VOLTAGE SUPPLY FOR VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL (ST), CHECKING (1993 M.Y.) .

Connect white connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to white Data Link Connector (blue connector is not used).
