Removing and installing selector shaft with selector segments

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 1995 Volkswagen Jetta III, 1995 Volkswagen Golf III, 1995 Volkswagen Cabrio, 1994 Volkswagen Jetta III, and 1994 Volkswagen Golf III. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • The washer is placed into the groove of the selector shaft and secures the shaft to keep it from dropping out.
  • The selector shaft can be removed or installed after taking out the spring for the selector segment.
