Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)

- Check operation
- Run engine for at least 1 minute at 2500 + 200 RPM.
- Measure CO content at CO tap tube (where applicable, upstream of catalytic converter) at 2500 +200/ -0 RPM and note reading.
- Measure CO content at tail pipe (downstream of catalytic converter) at 2500 +200/ -0 RPM and note reading.
- Calculate the percentage from the measurements.
- The three way catalytic converter is operating properly if the percentage is 50% or more
- Readings below 50% indicate a malfunction of the three way catalytic converter. It should then be replaced.
