Emission and idling test, gasoline engine: Notes

NOTE: Before performing the emission and idling test, note the following:
  • Test and adjustment conditions, specifications and spark plugs. See appropriate Engine Mechanical article.
  • Malfunctions recognized when checking the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory must have been repaired.
  • DTC Memory must be erased.
  • Do not disconnect or connect the cables of the ignition system-also not HT cables -unless the ignition is switched OFF, in order to avoid injury to persons and/or damage to the ignition and fuel injection systems.
