EMISSION AND IDLING TEST (DIESEL ENGINE) - 1.9L, ENGINE CODE AAZ

Oil capacity: 
With filter 4.5 Liters (4.7 qt.)
Idle speed: 
Specified value 900 +/- 30 RPM
Maximum RPM (no load) 5200 +/- 100 RPM
Dynamic feed start (with VAG 1543): 
Clamp sensor before opening injector jet cylinder 1
Test value 9.5 - 11.5°
Adjustment value 10.5 +/- 0.2°
Static feed start (with gauge): 
Test value 0.73 - 0.87 mm stroke
Test value (0.029 - 0.034 in.)
Adjustment value 0.80 +/- 0.02 mm stroke
Adjustment value (0.031 +/ - 0.001 in.)
Exhaust test for particle percentage: 
Opaqueness value 10% maximum
NOTE:
  • Tests should be performed following a road test and in the open if possible.
  • To minimize the noise level, close the hood to the first detent during measurement.
  • Engine speed can be measured with VAG 1500 or with VAG 1367 ignition tester via the TDC sender.
