VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), connecting (1993 m.y.)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 27 other vehicles, including the 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio, 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, and 1999 Volkswagen Golf. Move selector lever into position "P" or "N" and apply parking brake (vehicles with automatic transmission).
Unclip cover for Data Link Connectors (DLC) under heating/ventilation controls.
With ignition switched OFF, connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) with VAG 1551/1 adapter harness as follows:
First connect black connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to black Data Link Connector (DLC).

NOTE: If no display appears, do not connect the white connector. In this case, check the voltage supply for the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST).
Connect white connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to white Data Link Connector (blue connector is not used).
