Adjusting tension:

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove upper belt cover.
- Use tester VW 210 to measure toothed belt tension between camshaft sprocket and injection pump gear.
Specification: Scale reading = 12 - 13
If the actual value is not to specification, tension the toothed belt as follows:
- Loosen tensioning pulley securing nut.
- Turn tensioning pulley to the right with nut turner, (e.g. Matra V 159 or similar) -arrow- until the correct specification is achieved.
- Tighten tensioning pulley securing nut to 45 N.m (33 ft lb).
- Install upper belt cover.
