Brake fluid level, checking: Notes

WARNING:
  • Use only new brake fluid conforming to US Standard FMVSS 116 DOT 4. Genuine VW/Audi brake fluid conforms to this specification.
  • Brake fluid is poisonous. Do not ingest brake fluid. Wash thoroughly with soap and water if brake fluid comes into contact with skin.
CAUTION:
  • Do not let brake fluid come into contact with paintwork because of its caustic effect.
  • Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the surrounding air and should always be stored in airtight containers.
