Radio harness connector III, Data Link Connector (DLC) modification

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 27 other vehicles, including the 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio, 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, and 1999 Volkswagen Golf. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Prior to installing a Deluxe, Premium or aftermarket radio in place of a Sound System radio, the following modification MUST be performed:

Locate DLC wire at terminal -3- of black multi-pin connector III, -T8- on radio harness.
Remove wire from terminal -3- of connector, wrap terminal end with electrical tape, fold the wire back and tape to harness.
