On Board Diagnostic (OBD), initiating: Notes

Special tools and equipment

VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) or VAG1552 mobile scan tool or
VAS5051 tester

When malfunctions occur in monitored sensors or components, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored in DTC memory with a description of the malfunction type.

A maximum of 4 malfunctions can be stored simultaneously.

Sporadically occurring malfunctions are erased if they do not occur again within 50 start procedures.

To begin troubleshooting, initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD) and read out stored data using the

VAS 5051 tester or

VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) or

VAG1552 mobile Scan Tool (ST).

NOTE: The following description refers only to the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST).
