Test procedure

- Open instrument panel air vents -13 -.
- Set ventilation control knobs as shown in Fig 1:

- A/C switch -E35- (-4-) ON
- Fresh air/recirculating flap switch -E159- (-6-) ON
Check components and specified functions using INSUFFICIENT A/C COOLING OUTPUT (FROM 1994 M.Y.) - 1 OF 2 table:

- Adjust temperature flap control cable
3 - Footwell/defrost flap - No air flow from defroster or footwell vents (-2-,-1-)
- Adjust control cables
- Gear on A/C control head faulty, replace A/C control head
14 - Central flap - No air flow from defroster vents -2-
- No air flow from footwell vents -1-
- Adjust control cables
- Gear on A/C control head faulty, replace A/C control head
INSUFFICIENT A/C COOLING OUTPUT (FROM 1994 M.Y.) - 2 OF 2Components Specified function and check Remedy if specified function not obtained 8 - Fresh air/recirculating flap - Fresh air inlet -9- blocked (system operating in recirculating air mode)
- Vacuum servo -10- retracted (vacuum applied)
- Check fresh air/recirculating flap two-way valve -N63- according to wiring diagram
- Check vacuum hoses and connections, refer to VACUUM HOSE LAYOUT
- Check fresh air/recirculating flap switch -E159- according to wiring diagram
- Once above tested components check OK, check A/C system cooling performance, refer to A/C system cooling performance, checking
