Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool and select function

Test conditions:
- All fuses OK according to wiring diagram
- Battery voltage at least 9 V
- Remove ashtray and slide cover for Data Link Connector (DLC) to the left (arrow).
- Switch off ignition and connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool using VAG 1551/3 adapter harness.
Indicated on display
* Operating modes 1 and 2 are displayed alternately.
NOTE:
- If the display remains blank, check the voltage supply to the VAG 1551 scan tool using the applicable wiring diagram,

- Additional operating instructions can be printed out by pressing the HELP button on the VAG 1551 scan tool.
- The --> button advances the scan tool program sequence.
- The PRINT button switches the printer on (indicator light in button lights up).
