Checking control module version

Switch ignition on.
Press button -1- for "Rapid data transfer" operating mode.

Press buttons -1- and -5- to insert address word "Airbag".

Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Top line of display: Part No. of control module System designation (AIRBAG VW3) Version number
Bottom line of display: Code number (Dealer number automatically stored in airbag control module when entering the system)

Press--> button.

NOTE:

If any of the listed messages is displayed, the possible causes of the malfunction can be printed by pressing the HELP-button.

The ignition must be switched on.

Malfunctions have occurred at the start or during the program (external interference?).

Check VAG 1551/3 adapter harness, voltage supply (B+) and Ground (GND) connections.

After repairing possible causes of malfunction, press buttons -1- and -5- to insert address word "Airbag".
Press -Q- button to confirm input.
