Transmissions with springs behind axle flanges: Removing

Turn steering completely to right (full-lock).
Disconnect axle shaft from axle flange.
Press axle shaft upward as far as possible and support with block of wood, or equivalent, under shaft.
CAUTION: Avoid damaging surface finish of axle shaft.

NOTE: When replacing left-side oil seal, the following additional steps are required:

Remove wheel.
Remove transmission support -A- (where applicable).
NOTE: To do so, disconnect coolant overflow reservoir and lay it aside, see ENGINE - COOLING SYSTEM - 2.8 L VR6 2V - AAA .

Remove axle flange bolt.
Place oil pan underneath and remove out axle flange.
Remove seal.
