Front fender, removing and installing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio, 1999 Volkswagen Cabrio, and 1998 Volkswagen Cabrio. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove radiator grille, bumper and wheel house liner.
Remove antenna from fender (if equipped).
Remove bolts -1-.
Remove stud -2-.
Heat fender in area of A-pillar with a hot air blower and pull fender off (if necessary cut through PVC with an utility knife - this requires help from a second mechanic).

NOTE: PVC must only be heated lightly and briefly. PVC must not change in color or blister.

Installing
- When bolting fender in place, install zink packing AKL 381 035 50 to each bolt contact area.
