Passenger-side airbag unit, removing and installing: Removing

CAUTION: Before disconnecting the battery, determine the correct coding for the anti- theft radio.

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
Remove right side knee bar, held by five screws (bottom) and three catches (top). See KNEE BARS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Remove air vent by pulling it off its housing.
Remove air vent housing by removing two screws.
Unplug air vent housing connector (vehicles with VR6 engine only).
Remove hex bolts, slide airbag unit cover to right and remove. Remove retaining frame.
Remove four airbag hex bolts, remove passenger-side airbag unit and disconnect airbag unit connector.
