CAUTION:
Before disconnecting the battery, determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.
NOTE:
If the transmission or the clutch housing is being replaced, refer to information about clutch housing modifications beginning with transmission number 13 09 3: see INSTALLING .
- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
- Disconnect clutch cable, see CLUTCH CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Disconnect Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) -G22- (arrow -1-) and back-up light switch -F4- (arrow -2-).
- Disconnect all other electrical connections and Ground (GND) wires from transmission.
- Remove upper engine/transmission connecting bolts.
- Remove bolt (arrow) from right-side engine assembly support bracket.
- Where applicable, remove connector support plate -A-.
