Solenoid Valves in Valve Body , checking

This procedure is used to diagnose all Solenoid Valves in the valve body.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

Requirements 

Test procedure 

Start diagnosis

If the electrical harness connector is not OK:

If the electrical harness connector is OK:

Checking resistance 

Solenoid Valve Electrical Harness Connector Terminal Specified Value (Approx. 20 ° C)
Solenoid Valve 1 N88 9 to 18 10.0 - 16.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 2 N89 10 to 18 10.0 - 16.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 3 N90 12 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 4 N91 17 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 5 N92 11 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 6 N93 15 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 8 N281 14 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 9 N282 13 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω
Solenoid Valve 10 N283 16 to 18 4.0 - 8.0 Ω

If any of the specified values are not obtained:

Checking wiring 

If the manufacturers test box is being used. Perform the following step.

Solenoid Valve Electrical Harness Connector Terminal Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 electrical connector T68a terminals or test box sockets
Solenoid Valve 1 N88 9 48
Solenoid Valve 2 N89 10 49
Solenoid Valve 3 N90 12 26
Solenoid Valve 4 N91 17 25
Solenoid Valve 5 N92 11 50
Solenoid Valve 6 N93 15 66
Solenoid Valve 8 N281 14 46

Ground (GND) 18 64

Specified value: 1.5 Ω Max.

If the specified value was not obtained:

If no malfunction is found in the wiring and the resistance was not OK:

If no malfunction is found in the wiring and the resistance was OK:

If the DTC does not return:

Repair complete, Generate readiness code. Refer to → Readiness Code  .

If the DTC does return and no malfunction is detected in the wiring and the Solenoid Valve was OK:

Final procedures 

  1. Check the DTC memory.
  2. If necessary, erase DTC memory of the Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217..
  3. If the DTC memory was erased, generate readiness code.
