NOTE:
- Individual measured values can be read out under mode 1. Mode 1 is not recommended for authorized VW service stations, since this data can be obtained much more accurately via address word 01/function 04 or function 08.
- Mode 2 displays operating conditions, for which a malfunction was recognized.
- With mode 3, DTC memory is checked and with mode 4, DTC memory is erased.

NOTE:
- Mode 5 displays the static dimensions of the oxygen sensors, as legally required. Since these dimensions have no direct relevance for oxygen sensor diagnostic, mode 5 is not important for the authorized VW service station.
- Under mode 6, all measured values can be checked from components and systems that are not constantly monitored.
- Using mode 7, DTCs can be checked for which the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is not yet lit (MIL is not on, no DTCs under mode 3)
- Leaks in the tank system can be detected via mode 8. The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve -N80- and the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) -V144- seal the tank system. Pressure can be applied (max. 70 mbar) to the tank system via the test connection (at right in engine compartment and leaks can be detected using engine leak detection spray G 001 800 A1.
