Installed position of components at transmission

Remove before removing shift mechanism.

1 - Transmission shift lever

2 - Actuator lever

NOTE:

For vehicles equipped with coded anti-theft radio, note code.
For work on shift mechanism in engine compartment, disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
→ 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL
If battery is re-connected, please note procedures after re-connecting battery → 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL .
For work on shift mechanism in engine compartment, remove air filter housing → 24 - MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MFI) .
To replace operating cables, remove shift mechanism → Selector mechanism, removing and installing .
Do not bend operating cables.
