Test step 5

This checks function of Haldex Clutch Pump -V181- and function of Oil Pressure Actuator -V184-.

Connect connector for All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492-.
Connect Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 → Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 , connecting and selecting function .
Engage parking brake.
Switch engine on.

Operate clutch pedal and engage 1st gear.
Start driving slowly, rear wheels must push noticeably against parking brake.

NOTE:

Operate clutch pedal slowly or else engine will stop running.

If rear wheels do not push noticeably against the parking brake:

Check harness connector (2-pin) at Haldex Clutch Pump -V181- and wiring according to wiring diagram Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting Component Locations.
If no malfunction could be found, then the Oil Pressure Actuator -V184- is malfunctioning.

NOTE:

The Oil Pressure Actuator -V184- is integrated in All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492-.

If rear wheels do push noticeably against the parking brake:

Operate clutch pedal and select vehicle system "03 - Brake electronics" on Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system VAS 5051.

In display - 2 - of Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system VAS 5051 , control module identifications are displayed.
After the control module has communicated, start driving again in 1st gear with parking brake engaged.

Only the front wheels must turn.

If rear wheels continue to push noticeably against parking brake, then the all-wheel drive control module is faulty.

Replace All-Wheel Drive Control Module J492.
