The following guidelines regarding cleanliness must be carefully followed when working on the fuel supply/injection system:
- Thoroughly clean connections and surrounding surfaces before loosening.
- Place removed components on a clean support and cover them. Do not use any frayed cloths!
- Carefully cover or plug exposed components when repair work is not in progress.
- Only install clean parts. Do not remove spare parts from their packaging until immediately prior to their installation. Do not use any parts which were stored unwrapped (e.g. in tool boxes, etc.).
- On open systems, do not work with compressed air if possible. Do not move the vehicle, if possible.
