Fuel tank, removing and installing: Installing
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, 2002 Volkswagen GTI, 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, 2001 Volkswagen GTI, and 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Install in reverse sequence, but note the following:
- Route the vent and fuel hoses without creasing them.
- Make sure of a tight fit for the fuel hoses.
- Do not reverse the feed and return hoses (return line blue or with blue marking, feed line black).
NOTE:
- Once the fuel tank is installed, Make sure that the feed, return, and vent lines are still clipped onto the fuel tank.
- Check DTC memory: Refer to 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)
- Perform basic settings. Refer to 24 MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MFI)
- Read readiness code: Refer to 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)
- If DTC memory was erased or engine control module was disconnected from positive voltage supply, readiness code must be regenerated: Refer to 28 IGNITION/GLOW PLUG SYSTEM
