Work sequence

Disconnect electrical connector from After-Run Coolant pump V51.
Connect contacts on After-Run Coolant pump V51 with battery using auxiliary cables from Auxiliary measuring tool set VAG 1594 A.

Pump should start

If the pump does not start:

Replace After-Run Coolant pump V51.

If the After-Run Coolant pump V51 starts:

Switch ignition off and on.

Connect Voltage tester VAG 1527 B to disconnected connector of After-Run Coolant pump V51 using auxiliary cables from Auxiliary measuring tool set VAG 1594 A.

LED should illuminate

NOTE:

This test must be conducted within 10 minutes of the time that the ignition was turned off.

If the LED does not illuminate:

Using wiring diagram find and repair open circuit: Refer to Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting and Component Locations
