Power steering gear left hand drive, assembly overview

Power steering gear is not serviceable. If complaints are received, determine cause with the help of pressure tests, leak test and Guided fault finding. If a malfunction exists replace power steering gear.

NOTE:
  • Replace self-locking nuts and bolts. Welding and straightening work on steering components is not permitted.
  • Only use steering gear grease AOF 063 000 04  to grease the rack
  • Replace self-locking nuts and bolts.
  • Type of fluid: Hydraulic fluid G 002 000

1 - Tie rod end

Modification:

Modified tie rod ball joints → Modified tie rod ball joints 

2 - Hex nut, 50 Nm

3 - Clamp

4 - Boot

5 - Clamp

6 - Tie rod

Modification:

Modified tie rods → Modified tie rods 

7 - Clamp with rubber sleeve

8 - Return line

9 - Hex nut, 22 Nm

10 - Clamp with rubber mounting

Installed location

11 - Heat shield

12 - Self-locking hex nut, 45 Nm

13 - Selector mechanism bearing bracket

14 - Hex head bolt, 24 Nm

15 - Gasket

16 - Hydraulic line

17 - Banjo bolt, 45 Nm

M 16 x 1.5

18 - Banjo bolt, 38 Nm

M 14 x 1.5

19 - Sealing rings

20 - Steering gear
