1 - Connector

Black, 4-pin

2 - Connector

Black, 2-pin

3 - Bracket for return hose

4 - Return hose

5 - Gravity/expansion valve

To remove valve unclip upward out of support
Check valve for through-flow, Valve vertical: open, Valve angled at 45 ° : Closed

6 - Angle piece

7 - O-ring

Always replace

8 - Filler cap

9 - Oil seal

Replace if damaged

10 - Bolt

11 - Tank flap unit

With rubber cup

12 - Breather valve

To remove valve unclip sideways out of support
Before installing remove sealing cap
Checking Checking breather valve under Fuel tank with attachments, assembly overview

13 - Ground (GND) connection

Ensure seated tightly

14 - 10 Nm

15 - Union nut

Use ring nut wrench 3217 for removal and installation

16 - Fuel level sensor 2 G169

Note installed position on fuel tank Installed location of fuel pump flange and fuel level sensor under Fuel tank with attachments, assembly overview ,
To remove, pull off supply hose from fuel pump, unclip return hose bracket from fuel pump and disconnect 2-pin connector. Refer to Fuel Pump (FP), removing and installing , Fuel pump, removing and installing
Only replace complete with supply and return hoses
Checking: Refer to Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting and Component Locations , Guided Fault Finding with VAS 5051

17 - Oil seal

Replace if damaged
To install, place into opening of fuel tank dry
Moisten with fuel only when installing flange

18 - Vent line

Clipped in at top of fuel tank
Ensure seated tightly

19 - Fuel tank

Support with engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A when removing
Removing and installing. Refer to Fuel tank, removing and installing

20 - 25 Nm

21 - Securing strap

Observe varying lengths

22 - Lock washer

23 - Heat shield

24 - Support brace

25 - Supply hose

To remove from fuel pump, press release button on connecting piece

26 - Transfer fuel pump (FP) G6

With Fuel Level Sensor G

Removing and installing. Refer to Fuel Pump (FP), removing and installing
Check fuel pump. Refer to Fuel pump, checking

Clean strainer if dirty

27 - Return line

From fuel filter. Refer to Fuel filter, assembly overview
Blue or with blue marking
Clipped in at fuel tank
Ensure seated tightly

To remove from flange, press release buttons on connecting piece

28 - Supply line

To fuel filter. Refer to Fuel filter, assembly overview
Clipped in at fuel tank
Ensure seated tightly
Black

To remove from flange, press release buttons on connecting piece
