Combination valve, removing and installing

• V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench (5 - 50 Nm)

Removing 

• Remove engine cover.
• Remove intake manifold upper part. Refer to Engine code AEG 
• Disconnect pressure hose from combination valve.
• Remove middle insulation tray

Refer to NOISE INSULATION (GASOLINE ENGINES), ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW or NOISE INSULATION (DIESEL ENGINES), ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW

• Unbolt heat shield for right side drive axle.
• Unbolt lower support of combination valve connecting pipe to exhaust manifold.
• Unbolt upper support of combination valve connecting pipe to exhaust manifold and remove pipe.
• Depending on version, disconnect Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39-.

• Remove warm air collector plate with combination valve.

• Guide a 5 mm hex socket head bolt into holes -3- of warm air collector plate -1- and remove bolts -4- for combination valve -2-.
• Remove combination valve.

Installing 

Installation is performed in reverse sequence of removal.
