Right flanged shaft seal, replacing: Installing

Drive in new seal to stop, without canting seal.
Fill area between sealing lip and dust lip halfway with sealing grease G 052 128 A1.
Carefully drive flanged shaft, turning while doing so.
Secure flanged shaft with conical head bolt and tighten to specified torque.

Install right drive axle on flanged shaft → 40 FRONT SUSPENSION .

Vehicles with 4-cylinder engine

Install drive axle → 40 FRONT SUSPENSION .

Continuation for all vehicles

Install shielding plate for drive axle, if installed, on bevel gear transfer case and tighten to 25 Nm.
Check gear oil in manual transmission with bevel gear transfer case → Gear oil, checking .
Install sound insulation, if present. → 66 EXTERIOR EQUIPMENT
