Master cylinder, removing and installing: Removing

• Disconnect intake hose - 1  - , connector - 2  - and hose - 3  - from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
• Remove complete air filter housing by removing bolts - 4  - and - 5  - → 24 - MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MFI) .

• Disconnect supply hose - A  - to brake fluid reservoir and seal.
• Remove clip - B  - for hose/line assembly from master cylinder
• Disconnect hose/line assembly - C  - from master cylinder and seal.
• Remove trim below steering column → 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT .

• Rotate Clutch Vacuum Vent Valve Switch -F36- 45 ° toward left and remove from mounting.

Release operating rod/master cylinder from clutch pedal as follows:

• Pull clutch pedal slightly into passenger compartment.
• Press both sides of mount inward using pliers T10005 - arrows  -.

• Unscrew complete mounting bracket for clutch pedal as follows:
• Unscrew connecting panel - A  - - arrows 1  -.
• Remove securing nuts - arrows 2  - for mounting bracket - B  -.
• Remove mounting bracket.

• Rotate stop - A  - for clutch pedal in - direction of arrow  - and remove it.

• Press master cylinder to stop in - direction of arrow 1  -.

It must not be covered in the upper area of bearing for over-center spring - arrow 2  -.

• Swing master cylinder in direction of - arrow 3  - out of mounting bracket.
